Welcome

The Chittlehamholt Village Shop is community owned and operated by a volunteer team.  Although operated as a ‘for profit’ business our constitution only allows surplus profits to be distributed to community activities, not to shareholders.  For more information about our organisation visit our dedicated AGM site.

What we provide

The shop sells foodstuffs and household items, similar to a ‘corner shop’ in style and range. We support local producers wherever possible and have supply links from other local businesses for staple products such as bread, milk and butchery. We carry a number of standard products from all our suppliers but can also arrange special orders from their full ranges. See the Supplier page for more details.

We provide basic postal services; Royal Mail collect from the shop at approx 4:45pm each weekday and we can process parcels (both UK and International), along with ‘signed for’ and ‘special delivery’ tracked services within the UK. We supply a full selection of stamps and can advise of postal charges for most items.

We are not just a shop, but also a Social Hub for the Village, providing hot and cold drinks and snacks with a place to sit and chat with both friends and visitors to the village.

We carry a unique range of ‘own branded’ jams, condiments, cookies and cakes that are produced for us by a West Country ‘small batch’ supplier. So visitors can take home a taste of Chittlehamholt.

Own Brand Cookies

We pride ourselves is supporting local natural suppliers and hold a seasonal range of honeys produced by bees who live and forage both in the village and nearby. These honeys each have a unique flavour based upon the flowers from which the bees collect the nectar and pollens.

The Chittlehamholt Village Blog, which historically included the Village Shop, has now moved to a new location. We thank Helen Hollick, the blog author, for supporting us over the years.
